Many years after his death, Chase Cain is still inspiring Newton County residents to live their lives to the fullest and to help others. The Chase Cain Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has sought to pass along Chase's remarkable qualities to others and encourage them to make an impact today.
The foundation offers scholarships at all three Newton County high schools, as well as a scholarship to private educational institutions based on academics, extra-curricular activities and involvement in leadership roles among student peers.
Chase was a recent graduate of Eastside High School, where he played soccer and was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He played, coached and refereed for the Covington YMCA soccer program. He was also an after-school counselor and teen representative for the YMCA's Board of Management. At the time of his death, Chase attended Georgia Perimeter College, and was building a career in law enforcement.
In 2008 the foundation helped establish soccer fields at the YMCA's Outdoor facility on Stone Road. A field was dedicated in Chase's memory. Those who knew him best say the Chase Cain Memorial Soccer Field, where children in the YMCA's soccer programs will play for years to come, is the perfect way to honor him.
Other participation by the foundation includes events sponsored by the FFA/FCCA, the YMCA and assistance to wounded law enforcement officers.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
